oh, hi.

i usually just brush off the idea of blogging.  the whole "write down your life and try to make it somewhat glorified" thing--well, kinda puts me off.

that's until i realized i was doing it without blogging.  i was posting every snuggle, every good meal, every cutesy familial moment on instagram, twitter, facebook, and even on my iphone photo stream..  that is indeed the principle of a blog, right? to post all your shit, in one convenient place, add a few quips of pseudo-intellect or some clever remark and call it a day

so, here i am blog-world.  i have a blog.  now, i can't say that i may only post one or two things, and forget about the whole damn thing, because well.. i'm pretty notorious for doing that.  but, i'll give it a try.  write down some stuff.  make it kind of personal, because being personal is what makes a blog, and go from there.

so, blog world.  i have a family.  it's the four of us (and possibly a puppy in the near future) and we reside in suburban columbus ohio.  i have trinity, my fiance--he is not a girl (i guess it is a popular girl's name?), which i have had a few people ask me in the most recent months, but he is apparently named after some bad-ass guy, from some bad-ass western film.  in person i usually call him trinity, but for the sake of saving 3 letters each time i type out on this blog--we can call him trin.

i also have a darling stepson.  fulltime. he doesn't go home to see his bio-mom much in eastern kentucky due to work schedules, orchestra practices, and the fact he's a 14 year old boy who doesn't really like to do much out of his "norm." he's a great kid, a bit of a nerd, a bit of a jokester and his name is spider zane.  yes, his real name is spider--which i respect his father's decision to name him that, but due to my ultimate disgust of the arachnid--i usually just refer to him as zane.

then there is raegan, raegan wilde (yes, dad got to pick out the middle name) and she is mine and trin's daughter.  she's 19 months, currently hates toothbrushes, loves to try to eat crayons, and likes to walk around in only one shoe.  she's awesome, destructive in that almost 2 years old kind-of way and consumes most of my night and days. we usually call her rae.

then it comes to me, audra, ya know.  the author of this amateur blog.  you can call me,
aud.  because that is what people usually call me. drop off the -ra and i got myself a pretty cool little nickname.  i work, i somehow managed to get myself together and pop out a college degree before picking up a life with two kids. i live well--well, i try to live well.

so, here is this blog, probably going to be about the fretting of realizing i bought regular carrots instead of organic, the miracles and mysteries of getting my stepson to oil pull, and my uncanny ability to kill tomato and basil plants.  that's one reason we are a partially organic family, not only because of trials and mishaps we have in trying to be a healthy family, but because we are partially organic in origin.  we are what is now called a "blended family"-- which is an utter bullshit term, used to fluff up the idea that my fiance has a kid from another marriage and he is now incorporated in to our family unit.

and i mean that is want i want this blog to be about.  my trial and error in the healthy lifestyle, and parenting realm.  i'm 28.  so, i'm a new mom to rae, and i'm also a new mom to zane.  which is strange, but in our weird little townhome on the outskirts of columbus ohio--we are somehow making it work.  it's not always roses. but at the end of the day no one has lost an eye.
